Album

Acrobatic Tenement is the debut studio album by American post-hardcore band At the Drive-In, released on February 18, 1997, on Flipside. The album, along with InCasinoOut and Relationship of Command, was reissued by Fearless Records in 2004, and was re-released again in 2013. Only one of the album's tracks made it to the 2005 compilation album, This Station Is Non-Operational, with Initiation appearing as a live BBC recording. Acrobatic Tenement - At The Drive-In. Paul Hinojos and Tony Hajjar had yet to join and Jim Ward is joined by a second guitar player other than Jarrett Wrenn, who played on the first two the Drive-In stuck around long enough to have an unequivocal impact and burned out before they could wear out their welcome. Now, without much fanfare, the charismatic El Paso post-hardcore band are reissuing their 1996 debut Acrobatic Tenement and their 2000 swan song Relationship of Command. At the Drive-In stuck around long enough to have an unequivocal impact and burned out before they could wear out their welcome. At the Drive-In. Acrobatic Tenement. Though Acrobatic Tenement may only be a blueprint for the band's later albums, it comes fully formed - and as forceful as a bullet to the head. Cedric Dixler's barked emotional ferocity is perfectly complemented by nimble dual guitars, while Pall's bass snakes in and out of the heady mix. The result is a lurching masterpiece of an album that threatens to explode - or implode - at any moment. Unlike most hardcore bands, At the Drive-In know the value of subtlety, a trick they use to create an elaborate punkmetal soundscape of rhythms and tempo shifts. At the Drive-in were signed to Flipside Records after playing a small gig in Los Angeles, which only had nine people in the audience. This record label would soon release what I consider would be ATDI s best full-length album. Acrobatic Tenement is an emotional, hard-hitting story of the boys from Texas and their experiences. Acrobatic Tenement is a fantastically constructed first album. It stretches from subtle catchy songs to all out yell fests that you can barley decipher. It is in my opinion ATDI s best release because it encompasses their raw energy from their live shows and has Cedric at his lyrical best. Album 1995 11 Songs. Acrobatic Tenement At the Drive-In. First released back in 1996, the bands debut album Acrobatic Tenement brought with it a new wave of energy to underground communities and still remains one of the rawest insights into the band. Looking back across the timeline of At The Drive-Ins success, it is quite difficult to assess the album as a standalone piece. Although for some Acrobatic Tenement may only be seen as a prototype for At The Drive-Ins later releases, it continues to be wonderfully raw and expressive. The band have managed to capture and utilize the essence of subtlety, creating a remarkably understated record filled with an extensive soundscape of movements and tempo shifts. is it considered a reissue if it was never issued on vinyl in the first place?
A question I ask all the time! The term 'Reissue' has me looking for the first press everytime.
i believe the lingo 'reissue' is correct since its a new issue of the album after its initial release... had it been released on vinyl initially this would be called a 'repress'. Just my belief, not sure if thats official.
