Album

Dreams and all that stuff is the eighth album by guitarist Leo Kottke. It is the only completely instrumental album Kottke released on Capitol. It peaked at 45 on the Billboard Pop Albums charts, his highest position achieved on the Pop Albums charts. It was re-issued on CD by BGO Records CD132 in 1992 and One Way Records S21-18462 in 1996. This album meant a lot to me when I bought it in 1974 and it still does. I listened to this over and over again. I never thought I would get the chance in album Leo Kottke - Dreams And All That Stuff 1974. Leo Kottke - Mona Ray. Leo Kottke - When Shrimps Laern To Whistle. Leo Kottke - Twilight Property. Leo Kottke - Bill Cheatham. Leo Kottke - Vertical Trees. Leo Kottke - Medley: A. San Antonio Rose, B. America, The Beautiful. Kottke's sixth official album is a dazzling array of pieces, some wistfully romantic Mona Ray, others savagely witty When Shrimps Learn to Whistle, and still others downright folksy Bill Cheatham, with accompaniments of varying shapes and types, from dobro to synthesizer and piano. Kottke's own tunes are reasonably memorable, though the virtuosity tends to overshadow the music itself at times. Track listing. All songs by Leo Kottke except as noted. Side one.
